‘Tis the season and I picked Oisín up a Peppa Pig advent calendar from Asda.

Oisín is still into Peppa Pig, even though I’ve tried to cut back on how much he was watching.

He got into a serious habit of telling me off in a very posh British accent and then when we went to see Santa in Arnotts last year and when our turn to see the big man came around he shouted loudly “Oh Hello Father Christmas”. The Santa thought we were visiting from the UK.

That said, he does love that Pig and I’m a sucker for all things Christmas. I also have the best memories of Advent calendars in my house growing up and being so excited when it was your turn to open the door.

So when I saw the Asda Peppa Pig one, I really wanted to start that tradition with Oisín.

It was sold out online for a few days, but when it became available again, I snapped one up.

Asda don’t deliver to Ireland, so I had to set up a Parcel Motel account. Which, even for me was fairly fool proof.

Finally, it arrived. I have to say, I’m really impressed. The box took a bit of battering in transit but other than that Peppa and Co are ready for the festive season.

It’s a fairly sizeable calendar, (height 50.8cms, 34.3cms, depth 6.8cms)

The toys inside are absolutely brilliant. The whole gang are there, Peppa, George, Mammy and Daddy Pig, Zoe, Edmund and my favourite, Suzie.

There’s 12 characters and 12 accessories, which are great too.

I was thinking, “Am I mad getting this?” But actually I’m delighted with it.

Now, roll on December first and explaining to Oisín that he can only open one a day. I’m sure his three year old coping skills will take that news well.

Wish me luck.
